PEONIES AND PLUMS

These peonies grew outside my home in Cape Town and I so miss those wintery, rainy mornings when I used to pick a few branches from the tree outside my front door to decorate the entrance hall. This painting celebrates my special memories. The somber greens of the background set the pinks off vibrantly and I just love the way it turned out.

    Wow, that is amazingly gorgeous! I love that the texture shows through so clearly, and now you make me want to paint (and I so cannot!!)

    Such a beautiful painting! I can feel the sunlight as it touches the peonies, shines through the water in the vase and casts shadows onto the table top. You have caught the beauty of each blossom! Lovely!
