I spent a few days with my dear friend Katana who has the most beautiful pieces of Italian and Mexican pottery in her house. The early morning sunlight caught these oranges just for a little while and inspired this painting.

Mrs. De Florian left Paris just before the rumblings of World War II broke out never to return. The flat was found untouched after 70 years and here I have captured a beautiful vanity which was found among precious art work including an unknown Boldini!!
