This painting is as warm, peaceful and lively at the same time, just like my sister Tania herself. It speaks of everything she is, welcoming, calming, interesting and most of all beautiful! This is her sitting room, drenched by the late winter sun, just like she lightens everybody's lives around her!
My mom has a cup of tea every morning, from the finest China. She is a wise woman and it is only fitting that the cup should be right on top of a stack of books. I have always loved this chair as I have my mom!
So, I'm visiting between my sisters..I am one of 7 kids... and this is what my Sister Tania's beautiful window looks like! I collected a few antique glass bottles, lemons from here tree and finished it off with lovely, fluffy peonies!
FRANSE EETKAMER is a painting of a French dining room, in lovely muted colours yet striking light coming through the beautiful French window. I love the inviting arrangement of the chairs that beg your eye to stay a little longer!
So here in the southern hemisphere it is winter..and oranges are in season! This painting was inspired by the light falling on my sister's coffee table at lunch time..
I am currently visiting my mom in South Africa and get to see this beautiful scene every morning. The warm winter sun streams lazily through my sister, Mathilda's window and I feel blessed to be here!
I spent the afternoon thrifting about, looking for interesting vases and such, and found this beautiful, classic copper bowl which screamed my name from underneath some odds and ends! I love this more edgy composition that displays this bowl at its best!
I guess what attracted me to this composition was the lazy sun that beckons one to pause for a moment and enjoy the serenity and peacefulness of the scene. Also the play between the warm terracotta pot and purple shadows...
CHAMBRE BLEUE celebrates warm light, rest and all that is peaceful. I love the range of blues, old world greens that would add sophistication to any interior.
