I like how this painting worked out in that the roses at the top are there but yet not over powering, letting the silver jug be the focus of the setting!
A vibrant sunlit scene of some of the pots and urns on my kitchen counter. I captured the late afternoon sun peeping through the studio window...and I just had to paint it before sunset!
My husband gave me this beautiful crystal vase for a wedding anniversary, maybe the only one he ever remembered!! I love the texture of the glass and reflections of the water and petals.
Did I say oranges are in season??? We went fruit shopping at Moss Landing on Sunday which is right on the outskirts of Salinas, the salad bowl of the USA....and where one can buy fruit in season for CHEAP...so hence more oranges!
So oranges are in season...at least in the Northern Hemisphere..and so this is what is inspiring me right now. Love the intensity of oranges agains cool blues. This is a vibrant, strong and overall happy painting!
A warm, lively painting, depicting a warm setting of roses in a lovely glass vase, reflecting sunlight in the water. I love how the impasto of the oil paint adds to the texture of the petals and make this work even more alive!
Nothing is more inspiring than the reflections on a beautiful SILVER URN! So I captured this picture as the sun came rushing through my studio window this morning...didn't linger long though, as winter is setting in! I love how the dappled light, soft petals and broken color all work together in this piece!
SETTING ON A CHAIR with a few of my favourite things! I just love anything in an old enamel pitcher and nothing looks more beautiful than...you guessed it...PEONIES!!!
A darling setting of peonies against purple shutters and a very bright, warm highlight against the back of my little garden table. I love that the lemons only serve as a compliment color to support the composition!
VERDIGRIS sets off beautiful yellow hues, streaming in through the tall, French doors, inviting your eye in with the warm light which leads you towards a glimpse of a lovely Provincial table and chairs in the foreground.
THE SUNLIT ROOM is totally drenched in sunlight with beautiful shadows casting a glimpse of sash windows on the walls of this well lived in French interior. I love the open door that leads one's eye into the inner room which is connected to the first with the same warm dapple of light.
LA STATUE speaks of all things grand and glamorous though understated opulence which I tried to capture in this painting. I love the glimpse of yellow curtain which is neither overwhelming, nor forgettable!
LE BUREAU is a lovely painting, emphasizing the stark, warm light streaming into a calm, quiet room. The chair is invitingly placed to draw the viewers eye in and enjoy the view!
